NADDOD 400G OSFP DR4 single-mode parallel transceivers use a single, 4-channel MPO-12/APC optical connector with a maximum fiber reach of 100 meters. It is highly compatible with OSFP NICs, enabling interconnection to 800G switches and flexible link configuration with adaptive 200G speed reduction for 800G to 2x400G and 800G to 4x200G connections.

Different Heat Sink Designs Upgrade the Level of Performance

Mastering the differences between flat top and finned top, ensuring high performance and stable data transmission.

Finned Top modules feature a top design equipped with heat dissipation fins. The integrated top heatsink enhances cooling efficiency when handling massive data. 800G OSFP optical modules integrated in a heat sink are applicable for Quantum-2 InfiniBand switches and Spectrum-4 Ethernet switches.

Flat Top module's height is 9.5 mm without heat sinks, relying on the heatsinks on the NIC ports to assist the module in cooling, which fits into compact or constrained spaces without interference. 400G OSFP form factor optical modules are used in CX7 HCA.

In LL FEC (272,257) testing, the 400G OSFP DR4 module demonstrates a BER that remains relatively consistent with NVIDIA's original specifications (around -8~-10) before error correction. After error correction, the BER approaches zero. Maintaining a low BER helps prevent link jitter issues caused by high error rates, ensuring the stability of cluster performance and large-scale model training. This contributes to simplifying customer operations and maintenance while reducing costs.

Yes, it is possible. The 800G dual-port NDR 2xDR4 can be connected to two 400G NDR DR4 optical modules using two single-mode MPO-12/APC jumpers.

When paired with single-mode patch cords, the 400G OSFP DR4 can achieve a distance of up to 100 meters.

Why use MPO/APC (Angled Polished Connector)?

The 100G-PAM4 optoelectronic devices are very sensitive to reflections that occur within the fiber. Approximately 10% of the light reflects back to the transmitter when passing through the optical connector, causing signal distortion. APC connectors can deflect these reflected light rays.
