Questions & Answers
Ask a Question
Q:
What module should be used with the S2MPOS2x4F fiber patch cable?
A:
It is typically used for branching applications, connecting modules such as OSFP-800G-2xDR4H and four OSFP-400G-DR4H modules(NDR200).
Q:
What is the difference between the female and male connectors of MTP/MPO patch cords?
A:
Patch cord connectors can be either female or male, referring to the gender type of the connector. Male connectors have pins, while female connectors do not. When connecting two cables using an adapter, they must have opposite genders (one male and one female). When connecting with a module, a female connector is typically used.
Q:
What is the difference between APC and UPC connectors in fiber patch cables?
A:
APC connectors have an 8-degree angled end face, which significantly reduces back reflections, minimizing signal distortion and improving transmission performance. They are commonly used in single-mode fiber links or with APC interface multimode modules for high-speed applications. UPC connectors have a flat end face angle and offer lower return loss compared to APC. They are commonly used in multimode fiber links.
