Description

Arista Compatible Active Copper Splitter Cable, Twin Port 800Gb/s to 4x200Gb/s, OSFP Finned Top to 4xOSFP Flat Top, 4 meters

NADDOD O4Q112-800G-AC4 is an 800Gb/s Twin-port OSFP (Octal Small Form-factor Pluggable) Finned Top to 4x200Gb/s QSFP112 (Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable 112G) Flat Top Active Copper Cable (ACC) quad breakout (aka splitter) cable for Ethernet networking. The switch end OSFP has a finned top for additional cooling and the QSFP112 adapter end is flat topped and uses riding heat sinks on the OSFP cage. The ACC contains eight high-speed electrical copper pairs, each operating at data rates of up to 100Gb/s using 100G-PAM4 modulation. The “active” term refers to the passive copper cable with an equalizer integrated circuit to extend the length to 4 and 5-meters.

Product Highlights
Finned Top and Flat Top Unlock Optimal Application Scenarios

800G Breakout DAC integrates different heat sink designs of the two-end transceivers, unleashing powerful performance.

Finned Top and Flat Top Unlock Optimal Application Scenarios

The 800G OSFP end transceiver adopts a finned top to provide the necessary thermal management when handling massive data, which is applied for Spectrum-4 Ethernet switches.

Each module on the two or four 400G OSFP breakout side has a flat-top design used in CX7 NICs and relies on heatsinks on the NIC ports to assist the module in cooling.

Questions & Answers
Ask a Question
Q:
If I only use 3 out of 4 branches of the branch cable and leave one branch uninstalled on the network card, will it affect the usage of the three branches?
A:
No, it won't affect. After port configuration and splitting, internally in the device, it is recognized as multiple logical ports. Each branch of the cable corresponds to a logical port, and they do not affect each other.
Q:
Why are there no 800G AOCs?
A:
OSFP is very large and heavy, and the fiber can break easily. A two-branch cable will have 3 large transceiver ends, and a four-branch cable will have 5 transceivers. This will almost certainly easily lead to fiber breakage during installation - especially for a 30m long AOC.
Q:
What is the transmission distance of the O4Q112-800G-ACC cable?
A:
Active DAC can provide 4M and 5M.

The product met expectations, passed testing, and offers better signal quality compared to passive cables. It is a good product.

This product solves our issue for longer distances where DAC cannot be used. It is evidently more cost-effective than modules.
