Arista Compatible 400GBASE-SR8 OSFP-RHS PAM4 850nm 100m MTP/MPO-16 APC MMF Optical Transceiver Module
The 400GBASE-SR8 OSFP transceiver uses MTP/MPO-16 APC connectors to support link lengths up to 100 meters over multimode fiber (MMF). The transceiver is compliant with OSFP MSA, IEEE 802.3bs protocol, and 400GAUI-8 standard. Primarily used for NIC testing, it provides a low-cost solution for NICs-to-Switches connectivity.
With 256 nodes (8xGPU), the network architecture can save 19.38% of the overall cost by using 400G OSFP SR8 versus 400G OSFP SR4 on the NIC side (OSFP SR8 vs OSFP-SR4, roughly around 54% cost reduction)

OSFP SR8 adopts 8x50G-PAM4, while OSFP SR4 adopts 4x100G-PAM4, the rate of each channel of SR8 is reduced compared to SR4, to achieve the same rate, the stability of the signal transmission is enhanced, and the BER is reduced, which can achieve more accurate and reliable data transmission.
